Earl Hudson is pictured on the Quickness album,but if you look closely at the credits it says-"DRUMS ON ALL SELECTIONS-MACKIE".This was further verified when my band Funk'n'Stien did some warm up shows for the Bad Brains "Rise" tour here in Canada,in which Mackie was thier drummer at the time.Alas im pleased as punch that someone is familiar with ANY Bad Brains material on this board.much love and respect ...beats....

Wow, so it is. I saw Bad Brains with Mackie years back open for Living Color, that's a surprise. I wasn't that impressed then but Quickness has always been a great sounding album.

Tony Williams on RED MASK from ANGEL STREET.
I'd recommend starting with:
TOUCH ME from the same CD, then playing Red Mask immediately aferward. Sounds as if they've been recorded together and split into 2 separate tracks.
Actually, I think Steve had put up a video of Tony doing 'Touch Me' live. It's a short solo drum piece. Tony was THE MAN!

also "you know, you know" from the mahavishnu orchestra's inner mounting flame (a shuffle in 20/8 !?!?)
jerome brailey - "tear the roof off the sucker (give up the funk)" from parliament's mothership connection
john bonham - "when the levee breaks" from led zeppelin IV and "d'yer mak'er" off of houses of the holy
mike clark - "actual proof" (of course!) and also "palm grease" (way more simple than actual proof, but imho even funkier!) from the herbie hancock headhunters record, thrust

I'm pretty sure 1 of u guys already men. the gruvs to those classic Doobie Bros. tunes [Keith Knudsen, Chet McCraken...]
There's a fine drumr named Jason Harnell [i'm pretty sure he's still in LA now] - he used to attend music school here @ the U of So. FL, play'g in the big-band w/ a gtrst friend of mine, b4 mov'g out there - he's played/toured/recorded w/ Keiko Matsui & Maynard Ferguson, just to name a couple...nice gruvs in there...

Speak'g of Foreigner, I saw Denis Elliot [spell'g?] w/ them @ the "Super Bowl of R&R," Tpa, FL [w/ Bryan Adams, UFO, & [-it was supposed to be-] Ozzy [who cancelled - it was just shortly after Randy Rhoads was killed - the Pat Travers band took his place, but Tommy "Boom-Boom, Out Go the Lights/Crash & Burn" Aldridge had already departed PT by then & was w/ Ozzy also, i believe!
